Antique Art Nouveau Brass-Persia/ India-Holy Water Pot-Copper Rivets In Handle. You can see this is an early piece, All Hand Worked, Engraved With Atypical Sinuous Lines & The ART NOUVEAU ‘Tulip’ shape, Merged with The ‘Persian’ / Indian Influences. If you LOVE Art Nouveau, This is a piece for you, just a Wonderful Pattern. EUROPE Meets The EAST-‘Full of Eastern Promise’ ! Arabic & European Letters from the Alphabet, Beautifully Intertwined. It Looks Like a Jug , with No Sp...out. After some research, it could be for ‘HOLY WATER’- With a European/ English Use , as an INK POT. It is VERY Black Inside. From Antiquity, or Ink, or Both. It may Very Well Be , An Older Pot, Decorated At A Later Date. The Beautiful’Hand Made’ Rivets, at the Top, Fastening The Handle in place. Whilst the Bottom of the Handle is ‘Soldered’. At first, I thought it maybe a very old repair. But upon research, the Romans & even Further Back the ‘Sumerian’s’ made use of it ! So , against the ‘Copper’ rivets at the top, it doesn’t look as Good. But I’ve determined, that it is ‘Right’. This very Beautiful piece does Benefit from a Polish, But Only with a ‘Metal’ Polishing Cloth. All the details are better Defined, against the Natural Oxidation , behind the Hand Engraving.
