I have this fun Victorian era skirt lifter that is an original period piece. These were used for woman to hike up their skirt to keep their dress clean while getting into a carriage, while walking through dirt or mud, and once the bicycle came along they were important pieces of riding bicycles to keep your dress out of the wheels. This particular brass lifter has a fist holding a stick and there is a cuff showing at the wrist too, it is 6 1/2" long when closed. Looks to be in great ov...erall condition as shown.
