Vintage Tasco Binoculars Model 216 10x50 Feather Weight: Cleaned & Lubed. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.A really nice example of a superlative standard width, Bk-7 prismed, Japanese produced Vintage Binocular (Vin Bin). Was in our collection for two years before a wider angle one came along. Yet there are features on this one that I still prefer and wish had been incorporated into its replacement. For instance: Obective end caps here are rubber bumpers! How man...y scratched and even dented aluminum, or cracked and even missing plastic (Wards, for instance) beauty rings have we seen over the years? Just why it took so long before someone came up with these eludes me. Then there are the nicely sculpted, slightly rounded prism covers. Identical to later Tasco 400 series bins made years later, they are a thicker aluminum casting in lieu of thin stamped sheet metal. And then there is the weight! These are stamped Feather Weight, but are heavier than most other models of similar size and power. About what a Navy 7x50 weighs. Personally, I find the extra ounces are a bonus and add needed inertia to hold them steady off hand. Wish my wide angle magnesium bodied beauty was heavier and had the other features. There is a front hinge tripod socket on this model. And the rubber eye cups are still pliable and roll down easily. Views, especially daytime, are as nice as the Bak-4 loaded wide I just got. And lack the softness at the edges the new one is prone to. Just a really nice, standard width view. Crystal clear and crisp after a light cleaning of prisms and the inner surfaces of objectives and oculars. Prisms are also well tucked in and the barrels are deeply baffled! The original binocular carry strap that came with them is included along with the case that lacked a carry strap.
