Original Description:
Vintage 1960s John Nelson Cooper Iron Mistress Bowie Knife w/ Original Leather Sheath. Blade is made of 1/4" O-1 High Carbon Tool Steel and has Cooper in spread eagle stamp. Full length: 15-7/8"; Blade length: 10-1/2". The handle is wider than later Iron Mistress knives. Handle of micarta with brass guard, brass pommel, and brass escutcheon on both sides. Cooper received two patents for his process of assembling the knife into a solid, bonded unit. Thus, there is no open joint at the g...uard. This knife is absolutely stunning, especially considering its age, and would be the centerpiece of any collection. Leather sheath has COOPER stamp. Will ship with insurance.
