Ambrotype of Woman.
This woman's image intrigues me. She is clearly belongs to a different class than most women who sat for the photographer in the 1850s and 60s.. I wonder if the clothes she was wearing were her everyday clothing. .
The image is in great condition. It is a ver good example of how the ambrotype process results in quality images.
The union case is in nice shape. 3 of the 8 corners have tiny unnoticable chips, less than ...most. it doesn't take much force to chip these cases. The hinges work and the hasp clicks and keeps the case shut.shut. All in all this is a good example of the photographer's work at or just before the time of the civil war
