This is a very nice vintage used 1960s Buick Skylark 4-door hardtop “Fire Dept. Chief” friction working car. The maker is Yonezawa and their trade mark and Made in Japan are imprinted inside the back window. The car measures approximately 13 ¼” x 4 ½” x 4 ½” (including large red plastic dome light). The bright red car has nice lithography, including detailed dash, fire department emblems on front doors and trunk, bold Fire Dept. and Fire Ch...ief script identification and yellow and red striped seat covers. This car may have been available in both friction and battery operated as there is a very small hole in the center of the interior where a wire might have been attached to light the dome light. Regardless, this is an original friction version and the small hole is hardly noticeable. Other features include plastic steering wheel, rear view mirror, siren and black tires. Metal features include front grill and rear bumper, side trim, windshield trim, antenna and hub caps. The car is in very nice vintage used condition, with a few minor scratches, couple of minor touchups on right top rear fender and the metal is tarnished. The clear celluloid front and rear windshields are in nice used vintage condition and the friction works as it should.
