Authentic Native American Navajo Wide Ruins Wool Rug Woven By Debbie Brown 42x32
Item History & Price
This beautiful Navajo Wide Ruins rug is done in soft hues of brown, tan, and cream in a banded, unbordered design that is typical of the Wide Ruins rugs. Using all vegetal dyes, they spin the wool very tightly, so this Wide Ruins rug has a greater number of bands, and they are more intricate in appearance than the typical Navajo weavings. They are all done on an upright loom, and the rug was woven with a continuous warp yarn so the edges ar...e all tightly finished with no fringe. See closeup pic for a better view of colors.
I purchased this rug in 2001 at the Richardson Trading company in Gallup, New Mexico (see pictures on the original sales tag). It is in excellent, like new, condition. I only used it as a wall hanging. This is truly a work of art representing many many months of artistic labor.
