Vintage Bell and Howell Slide Cube Projector 981Q w/wired Remote-WORKS-NICEI tested this projector repeatedly with 20 slides in the cube for about 15 minutesTwo of my photos are of projections of slides from a Carlsbad Caverns gift shop setBulb lights up, Unit projects, Fan runs, and Tray advances forward and reverseLens can be raised and lowered by turning button on topAfter manually focusing the first slide, Auto Focus is supposed to take over. I viewed 20 slides and never... had to refocus, so it seems to workLens has to be turned in all the way or the cubes top cover does not fit properly. So if you have not turned the lens out, your first slide will be way out of focus When using the slide cube for viewing slides, I could occasionally get the tray to jam and turn real slowly or not at all. Seems pretty easy to unjamb by pushing on the tray with a finger. I think this was mostly an operator error with me getting used to loading the cube and getting the slides to cleanly drop down into the tray. After inserting the slide cube, it seems that cycling the spring labeled "lift" (see photo) got the first slide seated well in the tray and reduced/minimized jambsWhen reversed, the tray does not always turn, I think this is by design since slides already in the tray would interfere with the slide that's just come out of the slide cube into the tray. Or this may be another operator error that I just didn't figure out well enoughThe remote control hold down plastic snap is in tact, but it doesn't lock when the remote is pushed into its storage location. It does stay in place well enough (see photo) that the side door can be closed so I do not see this as an issueThe slide cube has a crack in it (see photo) but still works wellOriginal manual is included (see photo)No original boxThis is a thrift store find and the unit has an asset tag from the previous (Corporate) owner (see photo)All photos show the actual Slide Cube Projector that you will receive.
