Maria Martinez of San IldefonsoPueblo is probably the most famous of all pueblo potters. She and her husband, Julian, discovered in 1918 how to produce the now-famous black-on-black pottery and theyspent the remainder of their careers perfecting and producing it for museumsand collectors worldwide. I found this piece of pottery at a garage sale in Albuquerque.Photos are the description. This dish is signedMarie & Santana. The dish is 6.5” by 1.5”. This dish is at least 66 yearsold. No chips.
