For your consideration is this stunning silk Japanese kuro tomesode which is the most formal kimono worn by married women to a wedding ceremony. The body color is black with five mons or family crests in the form of encircled intersecting hawk feathers. People praised the strength and courage of hawks, so this motif has been used as a "symbol of authority." This particular tomesode has one bold ...embroidered peony and smaller ones which are not yet in bloom. It is hand painted with magnificent detail! Both exterior shell and full interior white lining are made of 100% fine Japanese silk. This kimono can be easily worn, displayed as a piece of artwork, or reused to create your own masterpiece!
