You are bidding on a OLDER (BELIEVE POSSIBLY 1940'S ERA BASED ON FAMILY INPUT) OLD NATIVE AMERICAN "PLATEAU" OR "PLAINS" REGION (POSSIBLY NEZ PERCE) HAND CRAFTED AND FINELY BEADED AMERICAN EAGLE PICTORIAL "FLAT BAG".....JUST AMAZINGI am not an expert in old Native American beadwork....but thought this old beaded "flat bag" was fantastic....this came out of an Arizona estate, originally owned by grandparents who lived in Northwest, and it is believed this is from 1...930-1950 based on the age when the grandparents were collecting items like this.I BELIEVE THIS IS CALLED A FINELY BEADED "FLAT BAG"...IT IS BEADED ON ONE SIDE, AND APPEAR LIKE SPLIT LEATHER ON BACK SIDE. THE INTERIOR IS FULLY LINED WITH RED FABRIC (see gallery). THE ORIGINAL STRAP IS INTACT....ALL THE TASSELS APPEAR TO BE INTACT.....THIS IS IN TERRIFIC SHAPE, HAS BEEN IN A RYKER STYLE PICTURE FRAME FOR MANY YEARS, OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT, AND IN DRY CLIMATE.THIS IS VERY BEAUTIFUL CONDITION.....AND BELIEVE IT IS "PLATEAU" OR "PLAINS" REGION NATIVE AMERICAN (I THINK NEZ PERCE, ETC).....ONLY A COUPLE OF MISSING BEADS THAT I COULD FIND, NO DAMAGE TO INTERIOR FABRIC.....COLORS ARE VIBRANT.....WHEN FULLY EXTENDED...BAG MEASURES ALMOST 22 INCHES (from top of strap to bottom of the fringe tassels)..............and......THE ROUND "AMERICAN EAGLE" BEADED BODY OF PURSE MEASURES ABOUT 10" DIAMETER.....(took photos with a 6" ruler to show scale)Native American plateau "flat bag" measures approximately 22" tip to tip, the main beaded section is 10" diameter, and the natural leather or tanned hide back side in nice condition, still supple, beads are vibrant, handle and bottom fringe seem intact. A terrific pc of Native American art (please see pictures in gallery) A 6" ruler in couple photos to show size. Overall seems in very nice condition.Gallery pictures should show you all you need to know. JUST A TERRIFIC OLDER NATIVE AMERICAN PLATEAU or PLAINS REGION FINELY BEADED "AMERICAN EAGLE" PICTORIAL FLAT BAG....has been carefully stored, and displays beautifully.Thanks so much for looking....collect and invest in history!!!!!
