Sunface Kachina Doll 17" Signed Handmade by Navajo Artist in New MexicoThe Sunface Kachina represents the spirit of the sun and is considered one of the more powerful Kachinas because the Sun is thought to be the brightest and largest of all the stars.This doll is 17" inches tall and is depicted dancing and holding feathers. His body is white with Turquoise colored leather trim on his cuffs, waist and ankles. The costume is beautifully detailed with hand painted image of the "End of Trail" again...st a cream background. His head is topped with feathers and his neck has a collar of white rabbit fur.This figure is carved from wood and is hand painted. The bottom of the piece is signed by Navajo artisan Theodore Bryan of New Mexico.This is a new item and has been stored in a smoke-free studio.
