His works are asbrilliant as the stone they are made from, and his work is highlysought after. This AMAZING knife was made with only the best possible products. The stone is a natural volcanic rock called Obsidian, that is only mined in the High Desert Plains of Eastern Oregon. Obsidian is much sharper than most flints, and is the sharpest substance known to science, although this piece is for display purposes only.           AMERICAN LITHICS has been  recognized with many awards and honors. KeithHull,   our original Brother In Arms, is  consideredby most to be the greatest living flat knapper in the world today. His works are collected  throughout the international artworld, and  are on display in many galleries and museumsthroughout the USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Thesophistication of his work  is unbelievably unique. His flakelines are uniform and exact, giving his pieces an authentic andtraditional look and feel. His work rivals that of the late GreyGhost, as he is able to replicate many styles and techniques of flintknapping.  Recipient of much praise and many coveted awards, Keith has been instrumental in establishing guidelines andregulations that govern the sales of Native American artifacts. Theoriginal formation of AMERICAN LITHICS was  to enforce integrityin the representation of arrowheads and other stone blades. In 2002, we so impressed the executives of eBay, that newregulations were formed to prevent the sale of fake artifacts oneBay, and preserve the rights of Native American Cultures.  Hehas been  centerfold featured  in several flint knappingmagazines, and  has spoken on many circuits throughout theUnited States.
A knife of thiscaliber is suitable for any chieften or shaman. In the old times, awork of art such as this would have been traded for a Pony, orseveral wives. It is definitely the one that you have been waitingfor, and would be appropriate as the highlighted centerpiece to anycollection.        AMERICAN LITHICS is comprised of a large and diverse  group ofinternational and domestic flint knappers, collectors, andenthusiasts.  Wewelcome new members daily, and our fellowship of integrity has neverceased growing.     Other Members of American Lithics:

KennethEley is an amazing artist that hails from the small town ofCastledale Utah. New to American Lithics, but not new to knapping, Kenoriginally started as a percussion knapper, and learned the flatknapping technique under the tutelage of World Renown Keith Hull. "Ithink of myself as a story teller, and the rock that I use is thecanvas that I use to tell the story. AMERICAN LITHICS is a brotherhoodto me, and I've found inspiration meeting knappers from all over theworld."  Born in 1985, Ken can trace his ancestry back tothe moorlands of Scottland. His work contains many differentmaterials, including Obsidian from around the world, Novaculite, Flint, Chert, Agate, and other more exotic materials.       NeilFehr of Plum Coulee Canada is a long time member and friendto AMERICAN LITHICS. His carvings are typically of Native Americaneffigies and lifestyle that are nothing short of breath taking! Justas highly sought after as Keith Hull, when these two put together ajoint project, the world stands still in anticipation! Neil's mediumsinclude many exotic materials, such as Amboyna, Springbok, and Tusk, as well as domestic materials such as Moose, Whitetail, and ElkAntler.

DougRich is a fellow flat knapper who also studied under the tutelage ofKeith Hull. Newer to the knapping community, Doug aspires togreatness and it shows in his art! His works are easily identifiedby  enthusiasts because of his oblique knapping scars, flatknapping transitional shaping, and daring designs.  Dougworks with all manners of rock from Flint Ridge Flint to IndianaHornstone,   as  well as  Obsidian, Opal, andChert. Youcan't go wrong buying a Doug Rich functional art piece!        RayHill   of Montrose Missouri  is a powerful knapper fromMontrose Missouri. His precision blades are as sharp and perfect asthey come. His scar lines are uniform in width and length, leavingyou astounded that such a blade can be created from stone. His bladesalone  often reach prices of  $199.00  to $399.00each. Ray has been acclaimed as  one of the top 3 knappers inthe United States  of America. He works with more unusual andrare kinds of Obsidian, ranging from Midnight Lace, Rainbow,   Silver Sheen, Gold Sheen, Velvet, and  Borealis Obsidians.      Karen Dixon of Washington State - Karen is aprecision flint knapper who prefers to work with Obsidian, but alsoknaps Flint, Chert, Opal, and Carerra Glass. Her work is simplyastounding, and is characterized by wide initial flake patternsfollowed by micro flaking for a tight serration. Her art is verypopular in Germany, France, Italy, and throughout Europe, where shehas many pieces holding high honors on display. Karen's work istypically by custom order only, as she is so collectible that she isoften booked months in advance. Life long friend of AMERICAN LITHICS, it only made sense to take the next leap and make Karen a solid base of our foundation.

Don Hustie - Don is aregistered member of the Cherokee Nation. Don's works are verytraditional, and it shows in his incredibly powerful blades. Holdinga point knapped by Don, you are hard pressed to discern it from anoriginal artifact unless you look for the diamond etched signatureand COA number. Don uses all natural Antler billets, Hammer Stones, and Antler tines to create his work in the same method that hispeople have done for countless millennium. Don was born in 40's, andis a very wonderful human being. Often donating his work to childrento encourage this wonderful hobby that we all enjoy so much.
