Absolutely stunning lidded rice bowl from 1960, it is dated by the red back stamp which reads: " Decorated in Hong Kong" this is a highly prized Famille Verte pattern commonly referred to as "Gold Cabbage & Butterflies". The elaborate & delicate images are enamelled, the colors are vivid. It's amazing to think this pattern was free hand painted by highly skilled artisans in Hong Kong. The porcelain in semi-translucent and perfect. This set has been in a 1 family Colorado e...state since 1960 and never used to serve food. At the time of purchase I have 6 available , each photo shown is a different bowl to show the slight variations. When the lid is removed from the bowl, the small lid doubles as a soy sauce bowl. The lid measures 3 3/4" diameter at the widest, the rim top is 1 1/2" in diameter, it is 1 1/2" in height. The bowl is 4" in diameter, the bottom rim is 1 1/2" in diameter, it is slightly flared and 2 1/2" tall. The condition is remarkable. Vivid color. Just beautiful !
