WONDERFUL MUSEUM QUALITY WORK! AMAZING AND DIFFICULT TO EXECUTE SENSE OF MOTION!
We fell in love with Rene Xuana's work from the moment that we went to his house in Oaxaca! Rene is part of the famous Xuana Family of San Martin Tilcajete. He is a notably skilled wood carver who has a great sense of both whimsy and reality in his carvings. His wife Rudbelia is an expert painter w...ho does fine work with much precision. It is a pleasure for us to be able to share their work with you! I watched Rene carving one of these bulls out of one piece of copal wood, and was nothing short of amazed! The long horns, the curling tail, and the sense of motion in the placement of the legs are all incredible details that speak to the skill of the artist. There are no removable parts, and the piece was signed by the artists. Museum quality work! These never last. Just gorgeous!!
