Offered is a vintage Northwest Coast Snohomish Indian Storage Basket. It measures 10" by 9". It has some of the same materials and workmanship as Oregon Siletz basketry, with what I believe is heavy hazel or possibly willow bottom and an open twisted rim, which, unfortunately, has mostly broken off. It is a heavy, solid, inflexible basket and was identified as Snohomish by the Alaskan seller I purchased it from. Despite its age-related flaws, it is an excellent example ...of antique weaving and of a basket made for use. Please see pictures so you understand condition issues: the rim damage, a few nicks here and there, and a few broken sticks on bottom. It is a bit misshaped, either as made or from use.. It is a heavy, big basket, so shipping is estimated to your area. I'll send it the least expensive but safest way, which is most likely USPS Priority or UPS. Please contact me if you have questions.
