Old Cabinet Photo Child In Sailor Suit Identified As J. Zaphas Howell

Here is an old cabinet photo of a little boy dressed in a short sailor's suit. He has the shirt with the sailor's collar and handkerchief knotted in the front, and he is wearing a pair of shorts, along with a light colored hat. He has thick hair cut right below the ear and with bangs. He is in his bare feet, so perhaps this is his swimsuit. He is holding something in his hand, against his side, it is black or dark colored with what looks like a screw in it. ...; I can't tell what it is, maybe a toy? On the back is written J. Raphas Howell, which I guess is his name. The photo was taken by The Gilbert Photo Co., as marked on the back with fancy script and graphics. They had studios at 926 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia; at the Cor. F & Eleventh St. Washington, D.C. and Atlantic City, N. J. I don't know which studio this was taken in, but, if this is his bathing suit, then it could be Atlantic City, NJ. The photo measures about 7 1/4 by 5 inches. The photo is clear, but, it does have some spots on it. The cardboard around it is soiled and has a tear in the one side. The tear does not go into the photo, though. The back has more soiling. The corners and edges are rough on the cardboard. Great photo for anyone tracing the family history of the Howell family, or for anyone who wants to frame this and use it for decoration, or scan it for use as greeting cards or other crafts.
