Offered in this sale is a Civil War Period set of Artillery Gunner's Goggles.  This set is a rare to find green glass.  It also retains much of the original felt that covers the mesh for comfort on the eye.  This is first pair I've come across that retains it.  Original, japanned tin case also included.  These were worn to protect artillerymen from flyind debris, dirt, cinders, and smoke.  A nice set with reference pics from "Touched by Fire, Volume Two".&...nbsp;
