First off, I know little about swords but I think I have all the particulars of this one correct - if not, let me know! It's known as an 1860 Model of a Staff & Field Officer's Sword. The blade is marked Gaylord MFG Co. Chicopee Mass. Even to the naked eye, the word "Gaylord" is hard to see, but I can make out the "ord" at the end of the name. There are three numbers stamped on the underside of the clamshell - looks like 265. It is a single clamshell design with an American E...agle with flags. The diamond-shaped blade has a design flourish (hard to see) etched on it. Size of blade is 29." Overall, 34&1/2." In scabbard, 36&1/2." Condition is as as found (estate) and as shown. Please look at all photos to form your own opinion of quality and condition. The top of the handle has a bit of play to it, and there is some minor loss to handle wrap. Otherwise it looks very good for age to me. This sword came with another antique sword I will be listing - a GAR marked sword - please check it out. This item is US ship only. Thanks for looking!
