Vintage Japan Hand Painted Black Lacquer Musical Jewelry Box 5" x 7.25" x 4".
Gorgeous vintage hand painted black lacquer Asian jewelry box featuring scenes of mountains, buildings, foliage, and peacocks. The peacock on the top seems to be missing his body. It appears that part of him has peeled off the box. His legs are still present and you can see where his outline was. The inside of the box features small compartments. 2 that open with lids and one drawer. The compartments a...re also hand painted and feature small red tassles on the handles. The mirror is also hand painted. Box is lined with blue ribbed fabric. The plate for the keyhole has lost the screws and fallen off, but the original plate is inside the box. The key is also included and is in one of the compartments in the box. Box measures approximately 5" x 7.25" x 4".
The music box is partially operational. It plays, but not as it should. When you turned the dial, it'll slowly play and stop or play a note every once in awhile, then start playing more if you pick it up and place it down. It definitely needs some tuning
