Good condition original WWI era AustrianModel 1889 State Official dress sword that is maker marked “WEYERSBERGKIRSCHBAUM & CO. SOLINGEN” on the left ricasso. 31 ¼” blade has originalbright finish and edge has several nicks and dings. Blade was bent in shipping and we have straightened to near perfect, has a minute wave in one spot of the spine that is tough to see and can only be felt slightly when slipped in the scabbard throat. Brass hilt has nice originalgilt fini...sh with several dings in the bow. Sharkskin covered grip shows some normal wear and has tight wirewrap. Fitted in correct original leather covered scabbard that has brassfittings with also a slight bend in the middle that can be "felt" easier than seen. Leather shows some wear, a crack in the middle and much flaking. Throat has the Franz Josephcypher. A rare Austrian state official sword that will make a fine addition toa collection.
