Here is a terrific shell casing dating from The War to End All Wars. It is delightfully grungy. 122mm at the base, 112mm at the top, and 93mm tall. It weighs just over 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds).
On the bottom it is stamped:
10PATRONENFABRIK (rounded over the center)two cute little logosKARLSRUHE (rounded under the center)a crownKe9
Very faint but it appears to be dated 1911 on the right side of the bottom. There may be a month on the left but I cannot make it out.
I hel...ped clean out a relative's house in Nancy, France after her passing last December. She was 93 and this likely belonged to her father who had served in the Army. I have another VERY similar shell and some shells that were decorated in the trenches on other listings. If you buy multiple items, I will combine to save you about $20 in shipping.
