Hand stitched, a flat weave silk, called meisen, was use in this robe for women, fully lined.
The fabric is light weight silk with a slight sheen in a wine color with white and gold medallions. It's a conservative style.
The interior is lined in fine ivory silk (upper) and a magenta silk on the lower edges. The lining has chest stains (photo 11) and stains on the panel (photo 10).... There are two pin holes at back of neck where the dry cleaner put a safety pin to hold the tag.
Though in good condition elsewhere, the kimono has prominent chest stains that are permanent. They show up with the flash but are a little more subtle in reality. However, they are noticeable. There are also a few stains on the left front panel lower down (you can see where they are situated on the lining photo #10) but they aren't too showy. Also a tiny spot on the back left panel near the bottom.Measures 51.5" from sleeve tip to sleeve tip and 56" at center back neck to floor. Shoulder to shoulder is 25".
Chest is 48", hip is 48", sleeve length from shoulder seam to wrist is 13" and the drop from the shoulder to the bottom edge is 18".
