The sender (Mr Will Ward) writes on the back:"My brother Jack, The first of my own work in China. The picture ???? a ?????? crowd of hawkers (Chinese) outside our camp at Chang Chi. The bell and surrounding masonry is an open air temple, where an unseen business is found. Position on the map about 200 miles north of Tientsin (if a map could be found). Should l...ike to know what you think of ?????? on next p.c."
The postcard is addressed to Mr J. P. Ward, Tullymore Park, Bryansford, Co Down, Ireland. The sender has penned next to the address 'Via Siberia'.
The Indian One Anna postage stamp has been franked with 'Base Office B' and the date of 16th July 1912.
