I've been collecting for over 55 years and it is now high time to start moving my entire collection on. Most of the items I have listed were either vet acquired, vet estate acquired, collector purchased or purchased through estate sales and auctions. Many of these items and groups have only had two owners - the vet and I. While eBay limits listings to twelve photos, I can provide more if need be. Please feel free to ask any relevant questions. I only ...accept payment through PayPal unless prior arrangements are agreed to before you bid. I ship domestically using US Priority Mail. It is fast and has excellent package tracking. I utilize eBay's Global Shipping Program for international shipping. Most uniforms items are fairly heavy to ship and the shipping costs reflect that. I will combine shipping for multiple items. I will not end auctions early in fairness to bidders. Please look at the photos carefully as they show more than I could possibly write.Offered here is an original WW2 USAAF Sgt. 8th Air Force uniform group including jacket, trousers, shirt and garrison cap. I've had this group for over thirty years and it has one of the nicest British made bullion embroidered patch on it that I've come across. The group is as follows:(1) Jacket: The jacket is a standard EM tailor made 2 pocket "Ike" style and is made of OD wool serge. For it's age, the jacket is in farily good condition. It is marked inside as a 34S. The label inside reads "Shapiro Clothing Co., P.O. No. 11847, Dated June 6, 1944, Phila. QM Depot." There is a discharge patch sewn above the right pocket and a pin back PUC just below. The collar brass are screw back. The ribbon bar is pin back and plastic covered. There is a nice, heavy and detailed set of sterling Air Crew wings above the left pocket. The wings are 3", pin back and marked "Sterling" on the back. There is an absolutely beautiful British made padded bullion embroidered 8th Air Force patch cross stitched to the upper left sleeve. The patch is embroidered with gold and silver bullion on a dark blue wool felt and is slightly tarnished with age. The TSgt stripes are British made and nicely embroidered. The overseas bars are also British made. There are two pin point sized holes on the collar and 1 small wear hole on the right sleeve cuff.(2) Garrison Cap: The EM garrison cap is custom made of OD wool serge with blue and gold USAAF braided piping. The cap has a leather sweatband and is lined in gold colored satin/silk. The cap has been issued and worn and there is some slight soiling on the leather sweatband. Attached to the cap on the left side is a clip back Air Corps collar disc with smooth faced clips. (3) Trousers: The trousers are standard EM type made of OD mustard wool serge. They have two slit pockets in the back (one of which has a flap), two slant pockets on the sides, watch pocket and button fly. They are labeled inside nut the tag is too washed out to read. The size is tagged as W29 W33. The inside is lined with white cotton that is slightly discolored from age. The trousers have been worn and show some slight wear and soiling. There are about five pin point sized holes on the right pant leg and two pinpoint sized holes on the left front just below the fly. The holes are very small and hardly discernible but they are there.(4) Shirt: The shirt is a standard 2 pocket EM type made out of OD wool serge. The tag in the shirt is present but too washed out to read. There is no size on the shirt that I can find. There are TSgt. stripes on both sleeves and a British made bullion embroidered on dark blue wool felt Air Corps patch on the upper left sleeve. There is a small pencil eraser sized stain on the left pocket flap - looks to be a drop of glue or tree sap. The shirt comes with a khaki cotton necktie. All in all this is a very nice USAAF 8th Air Force uniform group with some beautiful British made insignia. I'm not sure what more I can write that the photos do not show.I am also listing several other USMC and USAAF uniforms groups, flight gear, insignias and other groups as I get around to it. Once again, please feel free to ask any relevant questions.
