You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe E.10L Radio Unit (Ln. 26593), as used in conjunction with the FuG10 Radio System! This was used on many German aircraft such as the Ju87, Ju-88, He-111, Me-110 and others! This switch was part of the FuG10 Radio System, which was a family of transceivers for both R/T and W/T communications. The German FUG-10 panel, or rack, contained two transmitters and two receivers: One transmitter and its companion receive...r operated in the MF or Longwave; 300 to 600 kHz (1, 000 to 500 m) range and the other transmitter and its companion receiver operated in the HF or Shortwave range; 3 to 6 MHz (100 to 50 m). Most of the FuG 10 series used a fixed wire aerial between the fuselage and tailfin or a retractable trailing aerial wire. The FuG 10P replaced the standard E 10L longwave receiver with an EZ6 unit for a G6 direction finding set. The FuG 10ZY incorporated a fixed loop D/F aerial and a homing device for navigation to a ground station. This loop aerial, usually fitted on a small, "teardrop" shaped mounting, was standard equipment on most fighter aircraft from late 1943 on. Manufactured by Lorenz. Typical power was 70 watts. Used in most bombers and destrpyers, including the Me110, Ju87, Ju88, He111, He177, and others! Made of aluminum, bakelite and steel, this radio box is in EXCELLENT used condition. Though there are some marks, scratches, and dents, it still retains 95% of the original RLM66 paint, with no major damage! The Data Label is 100% complete, clearly indicating Ln. 26593. All switches and knobs are 100% mechanically functional, and it appears to be complete internally. However as I am not sure if it is functional electrically, I am selling this item as-is. I have indicated it's location in the lat photos. A VERY RARE item, it would be a FANTASTIC addition to any radio collection, panel re-build, or restoration project!
