Rare Antique Wooden Barber Pole Trade Sign Handmade In Pennsylvania Very Old 35 "

The wood board is slightly bowed from age. When the sign is standing upright, the bow is on the main board horizontally, not vertically. This is just from natural drying out and shows it has a lot of age. When you lay the sign on the flat surface, it is very flat. Each small piece of wood is held on with one nail but all are attached firmly but still the one nail allows some of the pieces to move just a little bit.
I believe this sign either hung inside or outside under a protected roof as there's only one small hole on the back top that does not go all the way through. If it was mounted on the outside of the barber shop, there would have been more mounting holes so the wind would not blow it down. The way it sits, this would have just hung on one nail so I'm guessing it's more protected inside or somewhere where wind wouldn't get to it.
This is the first one like this that I have seen. The estate that it came from was incredibly old with many items dating back to the early American late 1790s. If I had to guess, I'd say this sign is maybe from the Teens or 1920s.
This is a super piece of American folk art in excellent condition.
