As a radio section commander in the 1325th Light Artillery Regiment, 71st Guards Light Artillery Brigade, Tokarev maintained constant communications for the regiment under heavy artillery and mortar fire. “Scorning the danger to his life, he did not leave h...is post for even a minute.” He was “a role model for the regimental headquarters.”
Per his record card, Tokarev served in the Red Army previously in 1935-1937 and in 1939. It seems he was likely a participant in the Annexation of Western Belarus, a product of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
Tokarev was also awarded two Bravery Medals for WWII. These are both shown in archival records but are not noted on the award record card.
Condition is excellent, as seen in the images! Some grit on one of the rays. Original screw disc included.
Winner will be provided with full archival research (7 pages, including award record card, citation, and awarding decree... + some additional pages relating to Tokarev's Bravery Medals). Professional English translations available if requested before receipt of item.
