This 8.5” x 11” display contains a genuine piece of a Fw 190!This Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-9 (Werknummer 205186), known as Yellow 15, was built in September, 1944. Most of its history is lost to time, but it would have flown missions from late September/early October (based on combat reports from later built Fw 190's) all the way through the end of November. It took off for its final flight on November 26th, 1944. Its pilot was the Luftwaffe Ace, Otto Bach, who... had approximately 25 victories up to this point. He was part of JG 1 and were 1 of about 550 Luftwaffe fighters. They intercepted 1, 137 USAAF bombers that were attacking targets in the Ruhr area. Targets included rail viaducts, railroad marshalling yards and oil installations. The bombers were escorted by 732 fighters.
