Original Description:
GREAT GROUPING OF 14 US ARMY AIR CORPS IN-MISSION SURVEILLANCE AND BOMBING PHOTOS PLUS WHAT HAD BEEN A RESTRICTED IMAGE OF A DOWNED GERMAN FIGHTER PLANE
Last year I obtained at auction a grouping of WWII U.S. Army Air Corps in-mission surveillance and combat/bombing mission photographs.  This set of 15 overall photos is part of that group.  The overall condition of the group I would rage as Very Good with some having imperfections such as lighter image, etc., while other p...hotographs are excellent.  The photographs are as follows along with their dimensions:
*  3 1/4"x4 1/2", an intriguing photograph of a downed German fighter plane crashed amidst a pile of rubble.  This photo is intriguing as the back of it is stamped with the restriction "Not For Publication". The obvious question is, "Why?" At the time, did this plane have some recent technology advances that the Allies were still looking at to keep track of German aircraft advances?  Shown in the above photo group.
*  4 1/2"x5", formation of U.S. bombers over northwest France.  Shown in the above photo group.
*  Bohlen Raid, 4 1/2"x5", shown in the above photo group
*  3 1/2"x4 3/4" two photos of Toulouse France, appear to be surveillance photos
*  3 5/8"x 5" two photos of Brest, France; one of them has good images of ships in the harbor.  Brest being a port city, would be a high target for the Allies.
*  3 3/4"x5" Boise de Grande Marche bombing
*  4 1/2"x5" Bohlen Raid with an American bomber below the camera
*  4 1/2"x5" Darmstadt Raid with aircraft in the image
*  6 3/4"x8 1/8" Magdeburg bombing
*  6 1/2"x 8" Rositz oil storage bombing mission.  Germany's oil refineries and storage depots would be high priority targets
*  6 3/4"x 8 1/4" Blaye oil storage bombing mission.  Another high military target; this photo is in the above group shown.
*  6 5/8"x8" Brandenburg ARADO factory complex.  The ARADO factories were a major manufacturer of German aircraft, and produced towards war's end the first jet-powered bomber.  Their achievement was too late in the war to help the Luftwaffe try and regain any air superiority.  Photo in the above photo group.
*  6 7/8 x 8 5/8", Bretiigny Air Force base.  Photo in the above photo group.
30 day return guarantee as long as the photos are returned in the same condition as sent.   Domestic mailing cost includes insurance.  International mailing cost is based on destination.
This will make a fine addition to a collection of WWII air combat mission photographs, and U.S. air combat missions in particular.
