The 82nd Airborne had more combat jumps and experience than any other US paratrooper division in WW2. They landed on Sicily in 1943, dropped into Normandy on D-Day in 1944, and participated in the ill-fated jump on Holland in Operation Market Garden later that year. The uniforms and equipment worn by those "devils in baggy pants" have been of great interest to collectors for decades, leading Heimdal to write a comprehensive reference book on the subject in 2012, published in French....
