This is an original 1939-1944 U.S. Army / U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) M1 Garand hammer plunger assembly (plunger housing, plunger, and spring) made by Springfield Armory (SA). This hammer spring/plunger assembly is in excellent-plus original condition. It has its original gray parkerized finish, has no rust, no problems of any kind, in fact it looks unused.. This type of hammer spring/housing/plunger assembly, with the plunger having "guide wings" on the sides, is correct for SA Garands f...rom the start of production to January of 1944 (serial number of about 2, 500, 000).
