- This jacket and patches are from a deceased relative. He kept them when he was discharged in 1945 until he died in 2012. They were kept by his ex wife until she died in 2017. I have just about no knowledge of militaria, but because of family history I know these items are authentic. I have done a little research but can not be sure I have correctly described the jacket and patches. I have indicated in the... descriptions where I am guessing at what an item is. Please review the pictures and determine for yourself whether or not I have correctly identified an item.
The jacket was owned by Stanley J Groditski who served in the New York National Guard and the US Army when his unit was federalized in 1940. He served from April 1937 - May 1945. He was an enlisted man in Co B of the 102nd Engineers (Combat) 27th Infantry Division.
He saw combat in the Pacific Theater.
To me, the uniform is in excellent condition. There are no obvious holes or tears. There is minimal wear. The jacket includes his rank and the ruptured duck patch. There are what I think are service stripes on the left sleeve.
There are 2 27th Infantry Division Patches. One looks to have been removed from a uniform and one looks to never have been used.
Included is a US badge.
I have described the condition of this item as best as I can. However I am not a professional grader. Please look at the pictures carefully to determine the condition of the item for yourself. What you see in the pictures is what you get. The items sold as is.
