NOTE: Although I appreciate everyone's interest in this sale, please note I do not have a "Buy it Now" price and won't end the auction early to sell it to anyone. So, everyone can feel confident I will let the auction run its course and everyone will have an equal chance to bid and purchase this wonderful set. Anyway, now on to the description:Wow! What a great find from a local estate. Up for your consideration is a simply beautiful vintage Parker 75sterling silver fou...ntain pen and pencil set that I just found in a localestate. From inspecting the set anddoing a little research on the internet, here’s what I can tell you about it: The Cicele style pen was apparently made from silver coinsor ingots recovered from the Spanish Treasure Fleet Ship that sank in 1715 andlater discovered by the famous treasure hunter Mel Fisher. The pen is engraved with references to thatship and it is also engraved on the tassel with an “M” and on the end cap withan eagle (sorry for the poor photos of those, but they are pretty small). I read where this was the first limitededition fountain pen ever made and there were only about 4, 800 of them made inabout 1965 or 1966.
The pencil is alsomade of sterling silver, as marked, but I don’t believe the silver came fromthe sunken ship(?). The set alsoincludes the original presentation box, pouch, certificate ofauthenticity, booklet, some sort of insert for the pen and a “Y” shaped plasticpiece (see photos). I don’t know if the set was ever used, but because it isnot sealed in its original packaging I will have to call it used. In any event, is sure is a NICE set!
