Up for auction is a tin friction 1956 Thunderbird convertible made by Bandai of Japan. The car measures 7 inches or 18 centimeters long. It is complete and original with the exception of one hubcap which is a stand in until an original can be found. Oh, and the windshield celluloid is not original. This car is kind of a cross between a great parts car and a fair/good original. The colors is good, a subdued green. The surface has a nice subtle gloss and the paint is all original. ...The chrome trim is bright and shiny. The tires are in great condition as are the three original hubcaps. The base has some wear and the friction motor does not work. The parts are just a little wonky, just like they do not guite fit together as well as they should. The car is pictured on page 110 of the great Big Book of Tin Toy Cars. Thanks for looking!!!!
