For your consideration, we are offering for sale this New Old Stock Sheaffer Crest Ballpoint Pen, Model 588-2, with the 2-Tone 23K Electroplated Gun Metal Cap & Barrel. This ballpoint pen has never been used and always contained in the original box. I consider this pen New Old Stock, Mint Condition with original box with Sheaffer documentation with New Ink Refill.
This ballpoint pen was part of a purchase from a Stationary Store in Georgia where I acquired nearly 50 New Old Stoc...k Fountain and Ballpoint Pens in this Crest reissue design - this is just one of them.
COLLECTOR ALERT: These ballpoint pens were "Custom Order" Sheaffer pens from the late Jim Gaston. Jim purchased these special order Gun Metal Finish Ballpoint Pens for his clients and for others to purchase. These Ballpoint Pens were never a production item for Sheaffer. These were special orders that Jim received from Sheaffer - I only have a few and once they are gone that will be it forever.
This Sheaffer Crest Ballpoint displays a 2-Tone 23K Gold Electroplate Trim with Gun Metal Finish Cap & Barrel. The cap and barrel have absolutely no damage, dents, wear to the finish. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The trim is perfect with no scratches or brassing. This ballpoint pen has never been used, and in Mint Condition with a new Sheaffer Refill.
The Ballpoint pen is a twist activated pen. Turn the cap and the ballpoint tip will propel forward from the nose cone. Twist the other way and it will repel back into the barrel.
This Ballpoint Pen measures 5 3/8" inches in length. The Sheaffer Crest Ballpoint Pen comes with the original box, ink cartridge, and Sheaffer documentation. The Box is in Mint Condition - No Wear.
This writing instrument is a Sheaffer Reissue Crest Ballpoint Pen and is model number 588-2 with production beginning in 1996. Again, this Sheaffer Crest is like new as it has never been inked. The cap has 23K gold electroplated trim with the spring-loaded clip. The cap banding is also 23K gold electroplated and stamped, "SHEAFFER U.S.A. GOLD ELECTROPLATE".
This Sheaffer Crest Ballpoint Pen displays a bright finish that at first look resembles sterling silver . This writing instrument has a great feel in the hand as it has some weight behind it - weighing 22 grams. I would consider this Sheaffer Crest Ballpoint Pen to be in Mint, Never Used, New Old Stock Condition. A marvelous addition to your writing arsenal collection.
