I purchased this old lock at an auction in Ohio. It is a railroad style, brass, padlock. It was made by Slaymaker, Lang, PA. It was a lock used by the U.S. Bureau Of Indian Affairs and is marked as such. This lock comes with its matching original key. (3 AK, 785) It is marked on both the lock and the key. This lock measures about 3 3/4 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide. It is heart shaped. This lock works well. It opens and closes easily and the latch stays secure. The Bureau Of Indian ...Affairs was started in 1824. I would say this lock is from somewhere in the 1800's. I have included several photographs to help you see condition and content.
