This is an antique, double page, chromolithograph print (color lithograph) from PUCK, an old political humor magazine. Puck was the first successful humor magazine in the United States consisting of political satire expressed in colorful cartoons and caricatures that focused on the major, mostly political, issues of the day. It was published from 1871 until 1918. Puck was quite popular in its day, and is very popular among political cartoon collectors today. This series of PUCK ca...rtoons are clever, beautifully illustrated and provide an historical picture of the state of politics in 1881.

CONDITION: EXCELLENT — Clear, clean, very colorful and bright; no foxing, tears, creasing orfolds (other than the centerfold), and very good margins, perfect for framing. A really beautiful image. Nice dark lines and definition. NO HOLES AT CENTERFOLD. (Note: Light discoloration top margin. Still excellent.)This print is about 140 years old and guaranteed to be original. It’s anauthentic old chromolithograph from the aforementioned publication, and not a modern reproduction.
The print is 13" x 20 1/2". This print is truly ready to be framed and preserved.
