16mm Film The Gorilla (1939) The Ritz Brothers & Bela Lugosi Comedy Horror PD
Item History & Price
This time around we are auctioning off a 16mm original print of THE GORILLA (1939).
A maniac known as "The Gorilla" is terrorizing the community and his next target is wealthy insurance broker Walter Stevens (Lionel Atwill). Hired to investigate the menace are the bumbling gumshoes Harrigan, Mulligan and Garrity (The Ritz Brothers) who stumble through Stevens' mansion in a hysterically clueless stupor. Patsy Kelly is hilarious! Bela Lugosi (as the sinister butler) and Lionel Atwill are priceless in spoofing their own screen personae in this suspenseful, comedy-filled old house thriller.
This is an absolutely gorgeous 16mm original print. The overall visuals of this print are excellent. It's got sharp on-screen images. The audio track is clear and loud. Even better, the print only has light wear overall with an occasional splice. It's a really nice print, so grab it while you can. No Vinegar Smell. Film is complete and comes mounted on two reels.
This film appears to be solidly in the public domain.
We are always selling rare prints like this, so keep checking our listings.
