Years ago I was an avid collector of 16mm films. I've decided now to dig them out of storage and sell most of my collection, so keep an eye out for many titles to be listed, about 1 or two per week. Add me to your EBAY SAVED SELLERS list so you don't miss out! Here's the next one up..... Up for auction today is my 16mm reduction print of the black and white portions only of the timeless classic movie from 1939....THE WIZARD OF OZ starring Judy Garland and Ray Bolger.M...any years ago I purchased a beautiful reduction film print of The Wizard of Oz from a dealer. He offfered me a package deal for a second film of only the black and white portions of the movie, which he said was struck at the same time, in the same way, from the same source....so I took the deal! I sold the main film on EBAY a few years later and had planned to list the black & white reel shortly afterwards but it just never happened....so this "odd reel" has been stored away ever since.This "odd reel" includes all the scenes from the first part of the movie while Dorothy is in Kansas, before the twister whisks her away to OZ (about 18 minutes), as well as the ending of the movie where Dorothy wakes up in her bedroom back in Kansas surrounded by her family....including the end title and credits (about 5 minutes). The only footage not included on the reel is the opening titles and credits....footage starts immediately afterwards.-- Absolutely Beautiful sharp and dynamic picture
-- Perfect for someone who perhaps currently owns a film print of The Wizard of Oz...but has aged, missing, damaged, or "just okay" quality black & white footage. Or just would like to have some spare "emergency footage" on hand JUST IN CASE (God forbid) a projector accident ever happens and they NEED it for "repairs"!!!
-- NO vinegar
-- NO warping
-- Only a few splices, nothing bad
-- To me the sound seems a bit low, but nothing that turning the projector volume up didn't take care of

Although the video samples don't come anywhere NEAR doing justice to the quality of the picture, it will at least give you some idea of how it looks. This is merely an unavoidable consequence of my using a modern video camera (which records at 30 frames per second) to record a legacy 16mm film (which runs at 24 frames per second) being projected on a wall at close range. So, it's essentially a "frame-rate mismatch" between the two technologies (video vs. film) that's causing what you're seeing, it's not coming from the film itself. You can be 100% assured that the flicker/shimmering you're seeing in the video samples will NOT be present when you run the film on your projector.***)CLICK/TAP THE BLACK BOX BELOW to view samples of the actual film in this auction....
