King Kong is a 1933 American pre-Code monster adventure romance film directed and produced by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. The screenplay by James Ashmore Creelman and Ruth Rose was developed from an idea conceived by Cooper and Edgar Wallace. It stars Fay Wray, Bruce Cabot and Robert Armstrong, and opened in New York City on March 2, 1933, to rave reviews. It has been ranked by Rotten Tomatoes as the fourth greatest horror film of all time and the forty-sixth gre...atest film of all time.
This is an excellent condition print mounted on 2 x 2300' reels and printed on Eastman, AG2S and 3M b/w film stock. Please see photos above for image representation. Print has lab-heads, leaders and countdowns.
The 3M stock is the last 25 minutes and is a bit lighter than the AG2S which is the majority of the stock, which looks very good. Print has "Intermission" at the end of reel 1. Reel 2 ends with "The End" and Rialto logo and the credits.
Please note this print does NOT have all the violent, deleted scenes restored. All the violent scenes in the swamp are intact however but that's about the extent of deleted scenes that are intact. This print ran seamlessly from start to finish in my Eiki projector. Sound is loud throughout!
This print was tested with an AD strip for Vinegar Syndrome. Please see the results above.
