Years ago I was an avid collector of 16mm films. I've decided now to dig them out of storage and sell most of my collection, so keep an eye out for many titles to be listed, about 1 or two per week. Here's the next one up.....Up for auction today is my 16mm Film print of the fun and heartwarming classic short from 1939...DAD FOR A DAY starring OUR GANG (Spanky, Alfalfa, Mickey, Buckwheat and others). I've owned this film for about 15 years but have only run it a couple times. It...'s been stored away in it's plastic film can. I projected it today for the first time in many years to take video samples of it for this auction. The film is in excellent condition and runs just fine. Film Condition notes....Black and White quality = Good contrast and sharpness
Vinegar odor = No
Warping = No
Scratch Lines = Very occasional light wear lines, nothing bad.
Splices = 1 that I saw, nothing bad, barely noticeable. This film is complete with opening and closing titles, has a running time of approximately 10 minutes, comes on a 400ft reel and will be shipped to you in it's own plastic film can. This is merely an unavoidable consequence of my using a modern video camera (which records at 30 frames per second) to record a legacy 16mm film (which runs at 24 frames per second) being projected on a wall at close range. So, it's essentially a "frame-rate mismatch" between the two technologies (video vs. film) that's causing what you're seeing, it's not coming from the film itself.
