This auction is for a 16MM reel of one 30 minute episode of the Banana Splits and Friends syndicated cartoon show. The Banana Splits were a Saturday morning cartoon show that ran for two seasons from 1968 to 1970. In 1971, the show was sold in to syndication with four other Hanna-Barbera cartoon shows that each had limited runs to make the package attractive enough for nation wide airings weekdays after school. This reel is the syndicated version of The Adventures of ...Gulliver from 1968 episode 2. This show is an animated take on Jonathan Swift’s classic novel Gulliver’s Travels and features the giant and his Lilliputian friends getting into adventures. Also included are the great credits and bumpers featuring Fleagle, Beagle, Drooper, and Snorky – The Banana Splits. This all comes on one 1200 foot reel in an original syndication can ready to show! This reel is in very nice condition. The color has started to turn on the film but there is still lots left. The screenshots included here are from one of the reels we have to give you an idea of the quality but they are all very similar in appearance when projected. Keep in mind that the film actually will be much clearer and sharper than what is captured by a digital camera off a screen. Please see photos.
