ANTIQUE WAYANG KULIT SHADOW PUPPET FOLK ART HAND MADE IN BALI/JAVA FROM CIRCA 1900This wonderful antique shadow puppet measures 19 1/4" tall (including the horn handle) and stretches out up to 20 1/2"wide with the arms extended. It has a highly intricate cut-out design and was hand-painted with good detail. The hand-tooled and hand-painted leather form is attached to the vertical and curlicue horn section which also serves as the center... operating handle. Each wrist also has an operating handle made of horn. This antique Wayang Kulit shadow puppet is in good condition for the age. The colors are vibrant and have good detail. The cut-out leather has some waviness mostly at the center area. The horn handles have a slight curvature. Please see photos for condition. This antique Wayang Kulit shadow puppet can be used for theater performances or it would frame nicely as an art piece in your decor.
