Vintage Feed Sack NO BATTING Grandmother ' S Fan Quilt, Fabrics, 85 " X 72 "

This quilt, which consists of a pieced Fan top and a purple cotton backing, basically (no actual cotton batting, just a layer of fabric inside), measures 85" by 72" across and weighs 3 1/4 lbs. The bed is a queen, 80" by 60'.
The piecing of the fans was done by machine. The quilting was done also by machine, along the seams that join the blocks to each other, meaning that the actual patchwork "fan" parts are not sewn to the backing, they are simply hanging there.
On close-up # 8 ...you many notice that: the fans are not quilted, and beneath them there is only a thin textured fabric which we don't know if it is cotton or something else.
In spite of being rustic and rather simple, from a professional quilter point of view, this piece has some interesting fabrics, including one with flags, and one novelty, and it does have a certain naive charm.
