This scope was captured by German Army and in WW2(1939-1945) used on Mauser 98 and K98, German snipers like this scopes, because its had Lateral adjustment too and bulletproof steel. Most of German Sniper scopes in WW2 had only Elevation adjstment, Lateral(windage) adjustment made by screws on rear rifle scopes mounts, etc. Also I saw photos that this type of scopes(captured) used on German Machine Guns too. You can find this photos on E-Bay and Google.
