WW2 U.S.or Australian Fighting Knife This historic piece originates from the South Pacific Theater and can be dated between 1942-45 and no later or earlier.This Australian South Pacific Fighting Knife originated from the the WW2 South Pacific theater. There is a GI's / soldiers name burned into the back of the wood scabbard.There is a soldiers name and rank burned into the rear of the scabbard it may be possible to research him or his service records. This is a rarely... seen highly collectable example of a U.S Australian World War II South Pacific theater knife. The keel of the blade is hallmarked W.E. by the AustralianWhittingslowe manufacture, and the hand carved wood doweled scabbard bears the period stenciled letters U.S. as seen on much of the U.S. Army equipment of the time period.
