This is a vintage leather shotgun case made by VL&A Chicago (Von Langerke & Antoine). The case is in excellent condition. There is a patina to the leather that indicates its age. Some wear marks from common use and what looks like tape marks in a couple places (see photos). The straps and buckles are all present and in good working order. The interior is lined in green felt and has no significant signs of deterioration or wear. This is a high quality case and was top of the lin...e in its time. The company was purchased by Abercrombie & Fitch in 1938 but produced sporting goods under the VL&A brand until 1960. The Chicago facility was shut down in 1950. This case is stamped with Chicago in the name.The serial number stamped is:30F1398R(see Photos)The VL&A makers mark indicates it was made in Chicago and also looks like the stamps found from the 1930's. We cannot verify the actual date of manufacture for this case. The dates mentioned are based on our personal research on the company.
