Offered here without reserve is a nice hand thrown Pennsylvania salt glazed 1 gallon stoneware cylindrical storage jar, with finely executed neck and rim. Inscribed F. mil Schwabe Berlin in hand brushed cobalt blue stencil. Darker gray stoneware body characteristic of Western Pennsylvania potteries. Having an Albany slip glazed interior.
height 10 3/4in; diameter of rim 7in; diameter at base 6 3/4in
In overall good condition, my only apology is a small rim chip mea...suring approximately 1/2" x 1 1/2" (as pictured). Typical surface wear and surface discoloration from firing process to right side.
