MID - CENTURY 1956 Andrew Jackson, "Old Hickory" decanter. Jackson (1767-1845) was the 7th President of the United States (1829-1837), A General, and a Statesman. Was born on the border of North and South Carolina. Claimed Tennessee for his political and military careers. Was known to be "tough as old hickory wood" on the battlefield in the Battle of New Orleans of 1815 - thus his nickname "Old Hickory". Jackson enjoyed his own blend of bourbon from a dist...illery on the grounds of the Hermitage, his Tennessee plantation home. Decanter has fine overall crazing; no chips, no cracks.
